Privacy policy
Last updated 2 August 2026
GraphChinese is run by one person. This policy says plainly what is collected and who else sees it.
What we collect
- Your account — your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password itself.
- Your learning — lessons finished, answers, review schedules, XP and progress through the graph. This is the product; it is what lets the site pick your next lesson.
- How you found us — the referral parameters on the link you first arrived through, and your answer to the "how did you hear about us" question if you answer it.
- Usage — standard web-server logs and analytics events (pages viewed, features used).
Cookies
A session cookie keeps you logged in. Google Analytics sets its own cookies. There are no advertising cookies.
Who else sees it
- Stripe handles all payments. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. Stripe tells us your email and that a payment succeeded.
- Google Analytics receives usage data about how the site is used.
- Resend sends our email, so it handles your address to deliver a message.
- Hetzner hosts the server the site runs on.
That is the whole list. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Your account and progress stay until you ask us to delete them. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
Email hi@verticalchinese.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and progress deleted. We will do it.
Children
GraphChinese is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
