Terms of service
Last updated 2 August 2026
By using GraphChinese you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The service
GraphChinese teaches Mandarin Chinese through lessons, flashcard decks, graded readings and a knowledge graph. Some of it is free; some of it requires payment.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. One account is for one person. Tell us at hi@verticalchinese.com if you think someone else has access to it.
Payment
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay.
- A one-time purchase gives you access for as long as the service exists.
- A subscription renews automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access until the period you already paid for ends.
- For a refund, email hi@verticalchinese.com. We would rather refund you than have you feel stuck.
The material
The lessons, writing and artwork here are ours, and you may use them for your own learning. Please do not republish, resell or bulk-copy them. Some source material carries its own licence and attribution, listed on the credits page.
Acceptable use
Do not attack the site, scrape it in bulk, share your account, or try to reach other people's data.
What we do not promise
GraphChinese is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular result on an exam. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us.
Ending it
You can stop using the site and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
Privacy
How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy.
