我觉得这种直播促销，就是想让人冲动买东西。价格是真的便宜，可是你真的需要那些东西吗？

I think this kind of livestream promotion is just designed to make people buy on impulse. The price is genuinely cheap, but do you actually need those things?

折扣是真的，价格也是真的，这一点我不会骗你。可是你问得对，有几件东西，我买的时候，其实是有点冲动，不是真的需要。

The discount is real, the price is real, I won't lie to you about that. But you're right to ask. A few of the things, when I bought them, I actually was a little impulsive, not really because I needed them.

因为主播会说，这个折扣只有五分钟，现在不买，以后就没有这个价格了。我一听，马上就决定要买，其实不是因为我想要那件东西，是因为我害怕错过这个折扣。

Because the host says the discount only lasts five minutes, and if I don't buy now, this price will be gone later. As soon as I hear that, I decide to buy right away, not really because I want the thing, but because I'm afraid of missing the discount.

这就是我说的冲动。促销让你觉得时间不够，你就没有时间想清楚，自己是不是真的需要。

That's exactly the impulse I'm talking about. The promotion makes you feel like there isn't enough time, so you never get time to think clearly about whether you actually need it.

也许是这样。可是主播介绍商品的时候，说得也不是假的。材料是什么，应该怎么洗，她都会说清楚，还会让我们看很多张照片。这些信息，我在其他地方不一定能看到。

Maybe that's true. But when the host describes the product, what she says isn't fake either. What the material is, how you should wash it, she explains all of it clearly, and she shows us a lot of photos. I might not be able to find that information anywhere else.

这是真的，商品信息清楚是好事。可是这和促销的折扣是两件事。信息清楚，不代表你要在五分钟内决定。

That's true, clear product information is a good thing. But that's a separate matter from the promotional discount. Clear information doesn't mean you have to decide within five minutes.

我知道。而且看直播也是一种休息，主播说话有意思，我一边看一边笑，就算不买，也觉得高兴。只是最后常常还是买了。

I know. And watching a livestream is also a kind of relaxation. The host talks in an entertaining way, and I laugh while I watch. Even if I don't buy anything, I still feel happy. It's just that in the end I usually still buy something.

所以你自己也说不清楚，直播卖东西到底是一个方便的市场，还是一个一直让人冲动的地方？

I can't say clearly. The discount and the promotion are both real, the product information is real too, but what actually makes me decide to buy really does seem to be those five minutes, not the thing itself.
