Fixed Formats: A一量词B一量词, 东一A西一A, 为了…而…
A一量词B一量词 describes two members of a pair/group by echoing the SAME classifier twice, each half naming one quality: 一个高一个矮 (one tall, one short). The classifier must repeat exactly — it creates the rhetorical parallelism.
东一A西一A describes things scattered/disorganized 'here and there': 东一句西一句 (a sentence here, a sentence there — disjointed talk), 东一把西一把 (chairs strewn about messily). Again the same classifier/unit repeats after both 东 and 西.
为了…而… (formal purpose clause): 为了 + goal + 而 + verb phrase = 'in order to [goal], (one does) [action]'. 而 sits directly before the verb phrase that accomplishes the goal — more formal/written than a bare 为了 clause without 而.
