该让人工智能写邮件吗

我现在写工作邮件，都用人工智能。它先帮我写一遍，我自己改一改，然后发出去。以前写一封邮件要一个小时，现在十几分钟就写完了，一天能省一个小时，效率高多了。

These days I use artificial intelligence for all my work email. It writes a draft first, I edit it a little, then I send it. An email used to take me an hour; now it's done in ten or fifteen minutes. I save an hour a day. The efficiency is so much better.

I have noticed. Some emails read like nobody wrote them: too polite, no personal tone, like a notice. Do emails like that feel right to you when you read them back?

That problem is real, I agree. But isn't an email that's written fast and clearly better than one that's written slowly and unclearly?

清楚当然重要，但是语气也是意思的一部分。语气不对，客户会理解错，就算每个字都对。你说的效率，省下来的一个小时，其实花到哪里去了？

Clarity matters, of course, but tone is part of the meaning too. If the tone is wrong, the client will misunderstand you, even if every word is correct. That hour of efficiency you saved, where does it actually go?

你说得对，我也不是每次都直接发。有时候我还要花时间改语气，这样算起来，也不是每次都能省一个小时。所以你觉得我不应该用人工智能写邮件？

You're right, I don't send it straight through every time either. Sometimes I still have to spend time fixing the tone, so counting it up, I don't actually save a full hour every time. So you think I shouldn't use artificial intelligence to write email at all?

I don't think that. What if you only used artificial intelligence for simple emails, and wrote the important client emails yourself? Would that count as a compromise?

简单的通知，我同意用人工智能写。但是给重要客户的邮件，什么算重要，我们两个人想的不一样。这个妥协，还不算完全的妥协。

For simple notices, I agree to use artificial intelligence. But for emails to important clients, what counts as important, the two of us think differently about that. This compromise isn't a full compromise yet.

Right, the two of us haven't agreed on that part yet. But we do both agree that tone can't be careless. That itself is a kind of compromise.
