他毕竟是新来的，不懂这些规矩也很正常。	Tā bì jìng shì xīn lái de, bù dǒng zhè xiē guī ju yě hěn zhèng cháng.	After all, he's new here, so it's normal that he doesn't know these rules.	毕竟 introduces the underlying reason that justifies/explains the situation.
没想到他居然一个人做完了所有的工作。	Méi xiǎng dào tā jū rán yī gè rén zuò wán le suǒ yǒu de gōng zuò.	Surprisingly, he actually finished all the work by himself.	居然 marks an unexpected result, often paired with 没想到 (I didn't expect that).
他明明答应了要来，却一直没有出现。	Tā míng míng dā ying le yào lái, què yī zhí méi yǒu chū xiàn.	He clearly promised to come, yet he never showed up.	明明…却 highlights a contradiction between a clear fact and what actually happened.
经过三个小时的等待，火车总算到了。	Jīng guò sān ge xiǎo shí de děng dài, huǒ chē zǒng suàn dào le.	After three hours of waiting, the train finally arrived.	总算 expresses relief after a long wait or effort finally pays off.
