Emphasis Patterns: 再也不、怎么都、X归X
再也不, 怎么都 and X归X are three patterns that add emphasis. 再也不…了 means never again, 怎么都 means no matter how, and X归X (生气归生气) concedes one thing before saying that something else still holds.
怎么都/也 + V = 'no matter how' — emphasizes that an action fails or holds regardless of effort:
这道题他怎么算都算不对。(No matter how he calculates, he can't get this problem right.)
X归X，Y = 'granted X, but Y' — concedes X is true, yet Y still holds (colloquial contrast). The word X must repeat exactly, unmodified, on both sides of 归:
生气归生气，她还是原谅了他。(Granted she was angry, she still forgave him.)
Common mistake: modifying the second X in X归X (adding 了/很/着) — both repetitions must be bare.

Says a person will never again do something, a firm decision after an experience.
Structure: subject + 再也不 + verb + 了

Not: 我再也不去过北京。 再也不 speaks of a decision. For a past fact, use 再也没: 我再也没去过北京。

Says that something has not happened since a point in the past.
Structure: subject + 再也没(有) + verb + 过

怎么都 (zěn me dōu)
Means "no matter how", and the result is usually a failure.
Structure: subject + 怎么都 + verb phrase (usually negative)

Concedes that X is true, then says a contrast still holds.
Structure: X归X，but clause
