Frequency Adverbs: 通常, 往往, 总是
三个词都表示"经常发生",但确定性/语气不同。

核心区别: 通常=默认习惯(容许例外,中性);往往=根据观察得出的倾向/规律(常配"...的时候"和后续结果,不太用来说自己简单的日常安排);总是=几乎绝对如此("一次都没有...过"这类表达只能配总是,不能配通常/往往,因为后两者都容许例外)。
❌他总是迟到,可是除非特殊情况 → 总是与"除非"矛盾(总是=无例外,除非=有条件例外)。
