Multiple Adverbials: Ordering Rules
When a sentence has several adverbials before the verb, they follow a fixed order:
时间 (time) → 语气/范围副词 (已经/都/也) → 介词短语 (在…/跟…/对…) → 方式状语 (adj+地) → Verb
他 昨天 已经 在办公室 认真地 写完了 报告。
Common mistake: putting the manner (地) phrase before the place phrase, or putting 都/已经 before the time word — both break the fixed order.
Contrast: a single adverbial can go almost anywhere natural; the fixed order matters only once you stack two or more.
