Clause Conjunctions: 从而、加上、完了、一旦
从而 (thereby), 加上 (in addition) and 一旦 (once) are conjunctions that connect clauses. 从而 links a method to the result it brings, 加上 adds a further factor to a conclusion, and 一旦…就… says once it happens, a lasting result follows.
加上 (jiā shàng) = in addition/plus — introduces an extra compounding factor that combines with a previously stated one to strengthen a conclusion: A，加上B，(所以)C。
✅ 工作压力大，加上休息不够，身体越来越差。
一旦…就… (yī dàn) = once…then… — marks a triggering point after which a lasting consequence follows.
✅ 一旦错过这个机会，可能就再也没有了。

Not: 因为下雨，从而比赛取消了。 从而 follows a method that produces the result. For a plain cause and effect, use 所以 or 因此.

加上 (jiā shàng)
Adds a second factor that strengthens the first.
Structure: factor A，加上 + factor B，result

Not: 我喜欢苹果，加上也喜欢香蕉。 加上 adds a second factor and does not take 也. To say "also like", use 还 or 也 alone.
完了 (wán le)
In speech, it means "after that" and starts the next clause.
Structure: action one，完了 + action two

Not: 他完了回家。 完了 opens a clause and goes before the subject: 完了他就回家了。
一旦…就… (yí dàn…jiù)
Marks a turning point, after which a lasting result follows.
Structure: 一旦 + condition，就 + result

Not: 一旦昨天下雨，比赛就取消了。 一旦 speaks of a future or general condition, not one past event. Say 那天一下雨，比赛就取消了。
