Skritter is the best dedicated tool I know for one specific, important job: learning to write Chinese characters by hand and keeping them in memory. This comparison respects that, and is honest about the difference in scope. Skritter is a superb instrument. GraphChinese is the whole orchestra, and character writing is one of its sections.

What Skritter does well

Excellent handwriting practice. You draw each character stroke by stroke and get feedback on your strokes, which is the real way handwriting sticks.
Strong spaced repetition tuned for characters and vocabulary.
Good mobile experience and a large library of prebuilt lists, including textbook and HSK word lists.
If your single goal is to read and hand-write more characters, it is very good at exactly that.

Where its scope ends

It is a writing and review tool, not a full course. Skritter assumes your curriculum, your grammar, and your understanding come from a textbook or class elsewhere. It drills the characters, it does not teach the language.
Grammar and reading comprehension sit outside it. You will still need a separate system for sentence patterns and how the language actually fits together.
